Day 14–A 460 day journey ends

The Phillips Family

Us with Jasmina

Today has been simply wonderful.  We arrived at the orphanage about 10am to pick up Malachi.  Hitting the elevator button to go to his floor (4th), we were both a bit nervous & emotional.  Once we saw him though, every thing just felt so right.

Today has been a BLAST!

New coat & new hat for the fall weather!

Since we arrived at our apartment today, things continue to feel right.  We are a family already, and enjoying taking turns doing duties around the place while the other one keeps Malachi company.  We played, ate from a spoon (something the caretakers instructed us to press on with him because he doesn’t like it), and took a nap!

The rest of the day has included more playing, more eating and simply lots of JOY.

(and jammies with polar bears on them?!?!)Awesome!
You guys are indeed a family and you bring a world of people across the globe tremendous joy.

Nate carrying his son out of the orphanage took my breath away. “And he will turn the hearts of the father to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…” Malachi 4:6 Amen! We love you Malachi!!!

  2. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful… It’s so wonderful to see the three of you together out of the orphanage, and it will be so much more wonderful to see the three of you HERE IN SOUTH DAKOTA!!!! It’s been getting pretty chilly, so he’ll sure need that jacket and stocking cap!

  3. Simply Beautiful!!

  4. Congratulations, Phillips Family!!!! I love the new pictures! Enjoy your first whole days together! Thank you, God!

  5. That picture of Nate carrying Malachi out leaves me speachless. If a picture can speak a thousand words, that one speaks millions! Love you guys! And Meg, I’m excited that I got to see some more belly pictures of you 🙂

  6. Hey, It has been a blast watching you guys going thru the steps to bring this little man HOME. So pumped to hug him and watch him grow. Please never doubt what you guys have done is one of the most loving things a Human Being is possible of. Our lives would not be whole without Hendrik. Can’t wait to see you guys again.

  7. Awe, brings tears to my eyes!!!

Congratulations on your beautiful new son.

This is what it’s all about.

And I didn’t even realize Megan was with child!!!

You will have many blessings to come with becoming parents to 2 almost at once!

  8. That picture of the two of you stepping out the door of the orphanage… oh my goodness, tears in my eyes!!! 11. When are you coming home? We can hardly wait to see Malachai and to greet your new family!! I would like to post a photo on the MyFamily site of Malachi or if you know how to do that, it would be great!!

  12. Congratulations. You will continue to be in our prayers during this time of transition of being new parents. So amazing. Thanks for the photos. So sweet.

  13. So very cool that you finally have your boy! Is it that cold there? We will be there in 4 weeks (woohoo!) and was wondering what to bring our Little Man for a coat. This first time parenting thing is scary! Any help would be appreciated! 🙂
