Day 18

We got his visa today!

It has been rainy for the past few days, so going out and bearing the weather with Malachi hasn’t been much fun, but he is doing so well with it all.  We had our visa interview this morning, and things went so smooth.  They normally need to wait 24 hours for approval from the U.S., but they over rode (is that a word?) that procedure and had his visa in about 1.5 hours.  Malachi fell asleep as we waited, which was a blessing to not have a fussy boy in a waiting room.

As soon as we land on American soil, Malachi will be an American citizen!

We will be leaving in the morning.  Please pray for us as we travel.  Love you all–we know your prayers have made this happen.  THANK YOU!!

  1. Wow! You really finished everything quickly! I guess the Lord was blessing since the rest of the process took so long…although He still would have been blessing if it took longer, huh? I am very happy that you are heading home tomorrow as a family! 🙂

  2. Blessings on a safe and uneventful trip home!!!! Prayers for his ears in particular, that they don’t give him any trouble when the flights descend. He’s an amazing little boy, hand picked by God for your family.

  3. Yes, we will be praying for you as you travel! Our love and prayers, Tom and Laurie

  4. Praise God! Have a great trip home! We can’t wait to meet Malachi!!

  5. Wishing you safe travels Nate, Megan, and Malachi!
    Prayers are with you.

  6. I told you that I was going to pray that the passport & visa paperwork and clearance would go smoothly and quickly. God must have been listening because you are coming home! (I have a feeling that I wasn’t the only one that was praying that prayer.)

Now, I’ll pray for a smooth and safe flight back to SF–long flights can get a little tedious with a baby or small child. You will probably notice the difference from your flight going with just the two of you! I’m sure that someone gave you a few good tips for flying with a small child. If not, God will have it covered!!

How many suitcases do you have? The photos looked like you have quite a few toys, clothes for Malachi, etc. Is Malachi permitted to take his own carry-on?

    Safe travels!
    Mike B.

  7. Thinking about you guys! You’re almost home 🙂
